Concept
The work is the result of two workshops guided by German Artist Udo Rutschmann organized by Marco Sosa (Department of Art and Design) and funded by Abu Dhabi Music Art Foundation (ADMAF). The workshops took place at different times in different places at Zayed University with female and male students. The objective was to find a linking element to connect the two workshops and at the same time finding a place where the work could be displayed and at the same time visible to both groups. The work consist of two MDF boards 122x122x1,5 cm, painted with white and black dispersion paint, representing the colours commonly used on the traditional garments of the UAE.

A grid 5 x 5 cm has been drawn in pencil on the surface with a rim of 10 cm. In each intersecting line a nail has been positioned altogether, forming a forest of 882 nails. The nails where linked with white elastic bands forming a fabric of connections, inter- sec- tions and junctions. An analogy to a complex mental process and at the same time a binding element between the two different groups.
